If your blog post's featured images are fairly low resolution, you may want to delete the top image canvas. Your blog will still look gorgeous, but the top banner section looks best when you upload an image that's 2500px on the long side. You can also use our fave TinyJpeg to make them small so your blog posts still load quickly!

Engagements

Engagement Photos at San Fernando Cathedral

There’s something timeless about downtown San Antonio — the stone architecture, the rich history, and the quiet corners that feel like they were made for pausing and being present. For Alexia and Chris, choosing San Fernando Cathedral and City Hall for their engagement photos felt like the perfect backdrop for their story: classic, meaningful, and softly romantic.

These two met in high school in Poteet, a small town just outside of San Antonio. Even though they went to the same middle and high school, they didn’t cross paths until right before senior year. Their first time hanging out was at a party — and from there, they were inseparable. “We never really even talked about dating,” Alexia says. “It just felt exclusive and serious from the beginning — it didn’t need to be said.”

Now, two years later (and navigating time apart while Chris serves in the army), the way they show up for one another feels steady and intentional. Alexia laughs as she shares that her family calls him “poor Chris” — because he’s endlessly patient, always helping, always giving, always putting her happiness first. From cleaning and organizing to walks with their dogs, he shows love through quiet presence and thoughtful actions.

For their engagement session, they wanted photos that felt natural, fun, and relaxed — true to who they are. They’re self-described shy people, more into cozy movie nights, walks with their dogs, and takeout in bed than big crowds. In other words: moments that feel real, not posed.

And that’s exactly what we created. Soft light, gentle movement, genuine connection — a celebration of love rooted in calm and comfort, right in the heart of downtown San Antonio.

BEHIND THE LENS

MEET lois

Art with soul. Moments with meaning. Work led by intention.

Photography has always felt like second nature—an extension of how I move through the world. I grew up on a country property in Oregon, where most days were spent outside—filming home movies, dreaming up scenes, and photographing whatever caught my eye. I studied viola and piano, and that early love for rhythm and light still shapes the way I photograph today: with presence, intention, and feeling.

I’m the second youngest of eight, raised by Romanian immigrants who taught me to dream boldly and love deeply. Over the years, I found myself drawn to beautiful, refined storytelling—creative in approach and rooted in capturing true emotion. In 2021, I officially launched Lois M Photography. Since then, it has grown into a full-time business anchored in story, soul, and imagery that reflects life at its most honest and beautiful.

Today, I live just outside San Antonio with my husband, our three kids, and Luna, our mini dachshund. I find joy in the everyday—faith, family, music, strong coffee, and the kind of love stories that endure.
