Chris and Alma are getting married at Devil’s River Distillery so naturally, we had their engagement session there. We walked around downtown and then took some pictures at their wedding venue, and just walking around made me so excited to photograph their wedding day! After we took some photos near the River Walk, we went to a rooftop and I am in love with those shots. Even though this was their first time getting pictures taken, Chris and Alma were so natural in front of the camera.
Before the session, Alma told me that she was pretty nervous. But afterwards, she told me she felt so much more confident and ready for the wedding day! This is why I always recommend scheduling an engagement session with your wedding photographer. It is the perfect, low-stress moment to not only get more comfortable in front of the camera but more comfortable with your photographer. Alma said after this session she felt relieved because her trust in me as her photographer strengthened.

“Lois was so great for my engagement photoshoot!! She was super kind and patient with us and she gave us recommendations for poses to help us feel more comfortable in front of the camera. Our sneak peek and full gallery came to us so much quicker than I expected and all the pictures looked amazing! When there were issues with viewing my gallery she responded quickly with a solution! I would recommend Lois to anyone who is looking for someone fun and professional to do their photoshoot!”

The Pearl in San Antonio makes the greatest venue for engagement photos! It is a gorgeous downtown area that has so much going on. Their website says “When you visit Pearl, we’d bet you won’t ever walk the same path twice,” and I’m sure that’s correct! Lillie, Trey, and I had so much fun walking around and finding the best spots for pictures. When you scroll down you’ll see we found beautiful fountains, unique architecture, and even a stunning waterfront. I will definitely be returning to the Pearl for more photos, so if you like what you see, reach out to me and let’s get your session on the calendar!
You might be thinking, if this place is so amazing why are there no people in the background of these photos? Well, that is the biggest reason why I love to shoot at sunrise! A sunrise session is always my recommendation to couples who want to avoid crowds. It can be a bit tough to get up so early in the morning, but you can see from these photos that it was so worth it. These two wore the perfect outfits and were natural in front of the camera! I will never stop talking about the importance of your outfit at your session. Even if you chose the most beautiful place for your session if your outfit clashes with the scenery it can throw off the look of the photos. If you’re unsure of what to wear to avoid this, just ask. I’m always here for tips before your session.
